WHY CENTERED?
CENTERED is a purpose-built creative space in Jersey City, NJ. It is a place for artists, educators, and students to work with intention, let integrity guide their craft, and thrive in belonging. The studio shares its founder with Performing Arts Workshop (est. 2012), and serves as the physical home of the organization’s nonprofit Youth Performance Programs.
CENTERED was also established to support the broader creative community. Many artists and educators in Jersey City look for reliable, safe spaces to teach, rehearse, and develop their work. CENTERED offers that space in a beautiful, thoughtfully designed setting shaped by a community-focused approach.
The name CENTERED represents the intention behind the space and the values that shaped its creation, reflecting a commitment to presence, groundedness, and purposeful engagement. Here, to be centered here is to move through your process with clarity and intention in our shared space. It's an invitation to return to what matters most.
LOCATION
CENTERED is located at 143 Christopher Columbus Drive in the heart of Downtown Jersey City. The studios are one block from the Grove Street PATH Plaza, with easy access from Journal Square, Exchange Place, Hoboken and NYC (two stops from WTC and five stops from Midtown).
The location is steps from the Newark Avenue Pedestrian Plaza, local shops/restaurants on Jersey Avenue, and is walkable from the Public Library, Van Vorst Park, and several schools.
The facility sits within a recently renovated, historic building and features a street-level entrance at the corner of Columbus and Barrow. The studios occupy a split-level layout with central heating and air conditioning.
Three, mirrored studios with professional sound systems and mounted ballet barres are available for rent. Common areas are organized and well-kept. Each element is designed to maintain thoughtful and intentional use of the facility.

OPPORTUNITY
CENTERED can support classes, rehearsals, workshops, private lessons, coaching sessions, creative development, photography & videography, small community gatherings, and long-term projects.
The studios are suitable for dance, movement, acting, voice, music, martial arts, meetings and interdisciplinary practices.
